[StATS]: Hedge’s G (May 13, 2005)

Someone asked me today about Hedge’s G. I had never heard of it before, but if you do a web search, you will find

which defines it as a variation on Cohen’s D that corrects for biases due to small sample sizes. The formula for Cohen’s D is well known:

and you adjust this value to get Hedge’s G with the formula:
