IBM Watson is a supercomputer that has handled some difficult problems that are diffuse and poorly defined. In particular, it was able to compete in a general knowledge competition, a game show called Jeopardy, and beat the best human competitors. But even this is well short of the difficulty in solving problems in health care. This article outlines why health care is such a tough nut for IBM Watson to crack.
