One of the most common questions I hear is how to enter and analyze data from a two by two crosstabulation. It is not immediately obvious, especially to beginners, how to get started with this type of data. This is part 4 of a series of 6 handouts on this topic (view handouts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6). There is also a video version of this topic. Part 4 explains how to weight the data for a two by two table in PASW/SPSS.
The data shown above was entered into PASW/SPSS. You now need to tell PASW/SPSS that the first row corresponds to 41 subjects, the second to 132 subjects and so forth.
Select DATA | WEIGHT CASES from the menu.
In the dialog box shown above, select the WEIGHT CASES BY option.
Then click on "Count" and add it to the FREQUENCY VARIABLE field, as shown above.
